Time to Cap 2011

2011 started okay for me though it became bland mid-year.  Found new work and started blogging again. Met people, the good and the bad. Uncovered several realizations and sobering facts.  I am ending 2011 single. This year almost ended rocky. Though I am optimistic, as what I have twitted earlier, this 2012 there will be less foolishness, if there's any. Happy New Year Everyone! Cheers!! ☺

The first project for this 2012 is to get back to gym, must shed the pounds acquired during the holidays hehehehe. Must get that gadget that I was eying for.  And time to get aligned to my own field.  Then maybe I could find love before summer starts?  Though I am sure, I will still be spending Valentines Day, Single.

Again, wishing everyone a happy, bountiful and worry-free 2012! ☺

Sobering Fact

I recently just have learned this one, in fact, I learned it just too recent like a few minutes ago.  There's just no escaping it. What needs to surface will surface and we all need to face it.  The initial outcome might be burst of emotions but once it starts to settle, everything will clear out ☺

Share If You Are Single

Found this one on my Facebook wall... can't help but share... since it is true for my case ☺
Still, t'was a good 2011, Happy New Year Everyone

It has been raining on and off for the past days, as what my food buddy would call it, "bedroom weather".  The cold wind is refreshing though it keep sending this pang of nostalgia all over again.  And I can't help but be reminded of this song:

Fallen by Sarah McLachlan

I've always fancied her.  And yes, I have the knack of listening to slow burn music that speaks of heartache, emptiness or the like and I am still figuring it out why? ☺

Maybe This Christmas

It's Christmas once again and I'll allow myself to be mellow for this post.  I was sifting through some CDs and found one containing Christmas love songs.  So for the spur of the moment, I decided to play it and one particular song gives this pang of nostalgia.

The Role Of A Listener

Went out with a friend to dine. This time, it wasn't my food buddy.  I was a bit perplexed when this person sent an SMS to go out and eat. Yes, we are friends but not the type that would go out often with just the two of us and most especially to eat out. I figured, there must be something important my friend wanted to tell say...

Sweet Tooth Quick Fix

It's  the last day of my rest day and I'm feeling a bit slow. I don't know but I really feel lazy today despite having spent thirteen straight hours sleeping. I wanted the whole world to slow down for me today but my wish can't be granted so I decided to sink my teeth on to something to create such feeling instead.

Calea's Black Sambo

Calea'sBlueberry Cheesecake

Calea's Strawberry Granita

Was really fixed after enjoying these treats. Now suddenly, I feel like sleeping again. LoLz ☺

13th Month Basics

Yes, it's definitely one of the things that are being waited for every year, most especially this time of the month.  While for one this might translate to having extra cash to spend for one's self and/or loved ones. To another, this might be the only hope, judging from the tough times that everyone is experiencing today.

Now let us go a bit technical, shall we?  I managed to cross-refer two good sources in helping us define and know our rights towards this timely and most love bonus!! ☺

A Little To The South

T'was my rest day and got nothing to do. Was a little fed up with the all the bustling in city, I don't know. So when Mom said she'll go south to pay a quick visit to grandma, I quickly hit the showers and geared up to go with her.

Little Things That Cause Happiness

Recently finished having dinner with some "future in-laws".  I was finishing my serving of dessert when I saw two kids outside of the restaurant where we were having diner.  One was around 6-7 years old and the other one was 4-5.  The older one was doing a peek-a-boo with the younger while they were running around their folks as they walk towards the door to enter.  The two of them were laughing their hearts out, the sweet, careless and innocent laughter which almost filled the place.  Even others turned their heads to check who would cause such outburst of energy.  It was like contagious as I have witnessed some other folks smiling as the two youngster gallop around the place towards their table, oblivious that there are a lot of eyes looking at them.

Quick Escape

I guess I am lucky to have met a friend who can match my appetite and I believe that's what I am to her. Every time the crave kicks in, we are just one notification away to address our appetite for food... either the healthy or the not-so-healthy ones ☺

Dim Sum

Whenever I feel down, stressed, irradiated or agitated and when I think seeing people will not help lessen what I currently feel, there's one thing that I can always turn to.  It never fails to perk me up and make me feel all better again.  It is Dim Sum and what else?

Fuzzy Mushy Cover Songs Feeling

Alrighty, was randomly surfing the net when I stumble upon this two videos which became an instant LSS.  These two videos are cover song and yes, I am fond of cover songs too ☺

For the first video, it tells 'me' a message that would say "time to fall in love, again".
Terrified - Katharine McPhee & Zachary Levi (Kim Tran & Isaiah Antonio cover)

And for the second video, it reminds us that every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end ☺
Closing Time - Semisonic (Alex Goot & Chad Sugg cover)

Nightmare Before Christmas

Well, I guess so. we always experience Halloween, All Saints' and All Souls' Day before we get to December and celebrate Christmas.  Hence, this is nothing to fret for. This custom which is another Filipino staple, simply emulates how we, as community, are very much family-oriented ☺

Sunday, October 23, 2011

Last October 20th, I celebrated my 24th birthday. Yeah, I am old NYAHAHAHAHA.  It was nothing special really, like it has been a custom (for me, that is) not to make big preparations.  Well, the entire city is celebrating it for me. JOKE! It just so happen that my birthday follows the annual MassKara Festival so people are either busy with it or either busy with it NYAHAHA ☺  Adding to that, a lot of relatives, including my immediate family members were also born on the said month so that means everyone's stomach is pretty full come the 20th.

MassKara Festival

MassKara Logo
If you are from Bacolod City and a true Bacoleño [like me] (feminine: Bacoleña) or let us just use the non-gender specific Hiligaynon term, Bacolodnon (English: Bacolodian), you know what to expect come the month of October -The MassKara Festival.  Being celebrated on the said month usually on the third weekend which is near the city's Charter Inauguration Anniversary -October 19th.  The festival started in 1980 amidst of crisis when the sugar prices, which was the fuel of the city, hit all-time low. Contradictorily, the city's artists, local government and civic groups held a festival of smiles since the city is also known as the City of Smiles. They thought of this as a vehicle for the locals to ride out of the gloomy shadow that has befallen -another classic example of Filipino resilience ☺

Work Is Also Fun

When I was still with the company I have previously worked for, I could always hear one particular supervisor uttering (I guess that'd be his maxim) that the key to not growing bored of your current work is by thinking that you do not have one. Well in my case, I guess I did not listen that's why I resigned ☺  Nonetheless, I have work now and shall we say, I like it (seriously, who would prefer not to have a job in these tough times?). Bottom line here, everyone knows Work is Business but hey, it can also be FUN!

Confession: I am actually having a writer's lag and I don't know what topic to write as of the moment. I decided to play around with some pictures I took with my new colleagues and ended up making a slideshow. So if you are curious about how do I look or what was the finish product, scroll down a bit and play the embedded video ☺

If I Die Young

Following Nicki Minaj's aftermath with Super Bass and Maroon 5's Moves Like Jagger, as these two songs are being played in the office recently -and I am still figuring out what's up with that.  I was able to move over from the LSS (Last Song Syndrome) and settle with a rather more personal favorite. Yeah, I admit it.  My music taste is dependent to my mood but there is one thing I am sure of.  I can never go wrong with Country music.

First Love Never Dies

One of the great things that my hiatus from work has given me is that I was able to get my back to my first love.

Contagion Movie Poster
Saturday afternoon and it was quite hot in my place so I decided to take a shower, put on some denims, shirt and a pair of sneakers and went downtown (though it was funny since when I was riding the vehicle towards downtown, it drizzled).  Anyways, it was like too late for me to go back so I carried on.  I decided to visit Bacolod Cathedral (yeah, I have been missing a lot of service) and since it was really early for the mass so I decided to light a candle and utter my silent prayer instead.  After that, I took another ride and headed to the less crowded Robinson's mall. Even though SM City was just a walking distance away, I have decided to skip it since during weekends, it felt like you are inside a can of sardines.

Fright Night and More

Alrighty, got up early today for some work-related meeting which I assumed to be more than five hours long which really caught me off guard, as it was good for just over an hour (Yeah! My intuition suffered the moment my sense of time got messed up nyahahahaha!!).  So there I was, walking away from the office building got nothing to do (literally). Like hey, I really dedicated this day for that meeting and I have really over-estimated  the duration of it, got no one to blame.

Love Song Tuesday

I really don't know what's going with me at this time but I am really hooked with this song.  I first heard this song when I was traveling back home from a visit. The song really makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside -crazy right? ☺

Title: Marry Your Daughter
Artist: Brian Jr. & Niko McKnight

I did not find (or did not find hard enough) the official music video for this song but was able to find this neat animation though.

[credits goes to their rightful owners, just sharing this wonderful song]

Going Loco Over Sims Social

Loading Screen of the The Sims Social in Facebook

Just recently, EA together with Playfish have released a new game in Facebook entitled Sims Social. Even though still running in beta this casual game had received wide audience participation which is reflected by downtime ever so often as the developers struggle to meet the demands.

Gameplay is very the same as the past Sims titles, at first users are asked to create their own characters either by random character generation or by customizing key elements.  Then as you venture into the game, you get quests presented to you by neighbors which ranges from simple task within your own space and extends to task which can be completed by visiting your friends.

It is simple and downright fun and it serves as another avenue for one to meet new friends and even kill time ☺

Gameplay Rating: ☺☺☺☺ / 5 (due to server downtime ever so often but that's acceptable since the game is just in beta stage).

Lady Gaga Hits Country Music and Rock 'n Roll?

Was actually online in Facebook when a friend actually posted a poll about Lady Gaga's music video and out of the choices, there was one that I am not so familiar of. Therefore, to feed the rising curiosity in me, decided to do some research and here's what I got.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Tentative Box Art Cover

The famous espionage stealth action game returns with a new title and this time it's not Solid Snake who takes the spotlight but rather another protagonist named Raiden.

Resident Evil: Revelations

I am a big fan of the Resident Evil series, especially the game since it is where it all started and I confess that even up to now, I am still playing them on Playstation 1, 2 and even on Nintendo Double Screen. And now Capcom and the Resident Evil team will be releasing another title called, Resident Evil: Revelations...

Green Team

Alrigthy, back to blogging! Really decided to postpone all blog entries to focus on my gaming deadline ☺
Was caught up unlocking the second to the last character for Grand Chase - Philippines which is Zero - really awesome character!

After a few days of being offline from the blogshpere (offline in the sense that I was still able to read some blog entries from fellow bloggers) decided to pump it all up and do some serious grinding.  Now, seeing all the hard work payoff is so fulfilling and my Green Team is now complete. Yey!!

Exploding Surprise

Woke up a bit late in morning and decided to continue typing my supposedly blog entry for today when I felt the urge to drink coffee (was very successful for the past few days in convincing myself not to drink) but the impending headache became a lame excuse. Went to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee and while I was on my way back to my desk to resume typing, the dinning room light suddenly went dim at first then it flickered (the type you see in the movies when something evil is about to unleashed), curious, I looked up and then boom!

What Made My Friday

Alrighty, I have another confession to make... I am a fan of the Harry Potter books and movie series (as if everyone if not all, isn't) and since there ain't no books to be added to the collection anymore and the movie's last installment has just recently hit the theaters, Jo (J.K, Rowling) herself and the rest of the gang decided to have Pottermore...

Grinding Mode

Since the release of the latest character named Zero, to the character stable of Grand Chase last week, I was really enthusiastic to unlock the said character because this character will actually complete my Green Team (Lire, Ryan and Zero). Why Green Team? One answer, because the primary colour scheme for all of them is green -simple enough right? LoLz!

But as expected, unlocking this character is not without difficulty and grinding is a must...

For more Maintenance Advisory click here...

So what to expect when the game servers are up?

Melodrama of a Coffeeholic

Alrighty, seems like I was able to tap the poet within me again... (for who knows in which part of my brain I stowed him) I originally wanted to talk about my insomnia and how I envy my Dad, Mom and siblings on how they can quickly fall asleep, while I would twist and turn on my bed a couple of times before I finally doze off. The thing is, I could not find the right words to begin with but rather the first phrase of the poem keeps on repeating on my head. Decided to divert a bit, I turned to the cause of my insomnia -coffee and thus this article is made.

Dessert First, Dinner After

Alrighty, another Sunday food adventure with Jesha. Which translate to more time to reminisce (and talk) about the recent work, people and food food food!

Sweet-Tooth Cravings

Met up with Jesha (a colleague/friend) to catch up with each other and talk about lots of thing while having dinner at Pepe's (Piazza Sorrento, Corner 13th Lacson St., Bacolod City).

Was doing some Spring cleaning on my e-mail inbox and folders when I stumbled upon a validation e-mail from Blogger... apparently, I have forgotten that I do have a Blogger account.
